Lucky Seven for some

To regress into the world of the playground, looks like I’m ‘it’! My turn, Lucky Seven. Sabrina Garie has tagged me. She writes beautifully, and is currently working her way through the heroines of science fiction, alphabetically, which is quite a daunting challenge.

So what’ s lucky seven you ask?  A chance to show off your writing, with a twist. You have to post it as is at the time of the tagging, warts and all.  Here’s how it works.

  • Go to page 7 or 77 in your current manuscript
  • Go to line 7
  • Post on your blog the next 7 lines or sentences – as they are!!
  • Tag 7 other people to do the same

It’s funny you know, however you do this (7 or 77 pages in the printed version, or the document file) I always seem to end up with non representative bits of conversation. However, here is a segment from Page 7 of the manuscript of my upcoming novel,’ The Artemis Effect’.

Smiling, she looked up past her right thigh to her husband, kitted out in plastic coated apron with a wooden spoon in his hand.

‘Thank god you’re cooking,’ she replied, ‘I could deal with that every night too. I’m exhausted.’ She lay her head back on the carpet, crossing her hands over her stomach.

‘Who says I’m cooking? Perhaps I’m just waiting to spank you!’ Ray made a dive for her, evidently meaning to make good on his threat, but she was too quick for him. They wrestled briefly on the carpet, before Kimberley got a hand free and managed to tickle his belly, making him collapse heavily next to her.

Well, if you survived that, I’d like to tag the following people to have a shot at this. They are a very interesting group of people – please check out their work. 🙂
